OUR STORY

The Making Of Samana

Samāna began with a realisation.

We’ve become increasingly skilled at navigating the world around us, butfar less practised at noticing ourselves within it. Somewhere along the way, we lose touch with our own experience, and begin to look outward for answers. Every practice here is an opportunity for you to reset:to step out of automatic living, and turn your attention inward.

We invite you to create more space within;to understand what you need, respond to it with care, and move through life with greater intention and clarity.

Samāna is a beginning to build a stronger relationship with yourself; one grounded in inner ease, self-trust and a deeper sense of safety.

OUR APPROACH

The Samāna Way

01

Be Here

From what comes next to what is happening now

02

Tune In

From overlooked signals to understood needs

03

Integrate

From reacting out of habit to responding with intention

04

Reset

A greater sense of ease, safety and trust within ourselves

samāna creates simple pathways into movement, mindfulness and self-care that support the realities of modern life.

We teach a different way ofrelating to the body; one based on collaboration ratherthan control. Our practices are grounded in the beliefthat growth isn’t about doing more, pushing further or going harder. True to the meaning of 𝘴𝘢𝘮ā𝘯𝘢,they are built around the meeting of opposing forces: strength and softness, effort and ease, movement and rest. There is no single way to practise. We offertools that meet you where you are; and evolve with you as you do.

Founder’s Note

A note from Kaanchi

Samana is a coming together of the people, practices and spaces that have shaped my understanding of movement, the body and its relationship with the mind. I found yoga during a period of uncertainty, when I was looking for something to hold on to. What started as a personal practice became a way to find greater steadiness, focus and connection with my body, breath, and ultimately, with myself.

My first yoga teachertraining opened the doorto a much deeper exploration. As my practice evolved, so did my understanding of how expansive movement can be; and with it, my desire to share whatI was learning with others

That journey eventually became samana; a space that encourages us to s-l-o-w d-o w-n in a world thatrarely does,to letthe mind rest, and tune into whatthe body is telling us.

Awareness is where that change begins. But awareness also asks for action. Noticing that something isn’t working is only the first step; learning what to do with thatinformation is where the real work begins. Thatis what our practices are built around;to bring presence to how we move, how we breathe, how we rest, and eventually, how we meetthe ordinary
moments of life.

At Samana’s centre is an invitation to move beyond choosing one orthe other; recognising that strength can be soft and effort can hold ease. That having respectforthe body’s limits is not separate from progress; itis a part ofthe growth.

This space will continue to evolve, shaped by the practices we share and the community we build. But whatremains constantis the beliefthat we can show up as we are and find our own way into practice.

I’m so glad you’re here!

Our approach

"The practice was never about becoming
someone new. It was about remembering gently,
honestly who was already there.

"As a complete beginner I was nervous. Every class made space for exactly where I was. Now it's the anchor of my week."
